Marilyn Martin - Office Manager
Marilyn has certainly made the most of her qualifications in
languages, business management and accounting, having spent many
exciting years in Switzerland, Germany, and Belgium.
She fell in love with skiing in her homeland of Scotland, in the days
of wooden skis and cable bindings, despite the horizontal rain. The
temptation of swiss chocolate, fondue and skiing in sunshine proved
too much to resist, and at 19 she moved to Switzerland to work as PA
to a Financial Controller and put those languages to use.
Marilyn’s extensive experience as an international PA includes
positions as Sports Controller with the Federation Equestre
Internationale, and as PA to Baroness Ullens de Schooten in Brussels –
a sugar baron family. Returning to the UK, she became Estates Manager
for Hestair Recruitment Plc – opening 35 new branches throughout the
UK in one year. Never one to take things easy, Marilyn had the drive
to continue her challenging career, whilst also juggling motherhood.
She was not only a founder member of the Association of Teleworkers,
but also established herself as one of the first Virtual Assistants in
the UK for a host of international clients. The perfect work-life
balance, according to Marilyn!
Marilyn brings a wealth and diversity of experience, knowledge and
skills coupled with a fascination for technology to Branch
Communications, who definitely miss her when she visits her children
destined to live New Zealand and South Africa. Looks like the travel
bug runs in the family...
